Old Age Pension & Other Financial Assistance Schemes (State Pension Schemes):-

1) The following Schemes are being implemented by Govt. of Punjab for providing Social Security to Old age person, Widow & Destitute women, Dependent Children & Disabled Persons:-

(i) Old Age Pension.
(ii) Financial Assistance to Widows and Destitute Women.
(iii) Financial Assistance to Dependent Children.
(iv) Financial Assistance to Disabled Persons.

i) Old Age Pension
Under this Scheme, pension is granted to women of 58 years of age and above and to men of 65 years of age and above. Total annual Income should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- including business or rental or interest income. The Applicant having maximum 2.5 Acre Nehri/Chahi land or maximum 5 Acre Barani land ownership and 5 Acre land in waterlogged area (including husband & wife) is also eligible for pension as per report of revenue department (Patwari).
ii) Financial Assistance to Widows and Destitute Women
Under this scheme, Financial Assistance is granted to Widows/Destitute Women of the age below 58 years and unmarried women above the age of 30 years. Total annual Income should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- including business or rental or interest income.

iii) Financial Assistance to Dependent Children
a) Under this Scheme, Financial Assistance is granted to the children below the age of 21 years, whose mother/father or both have passed away or parents regularly absent from home or have become physically /mentally incapacitated to look after the family. Total annual Income should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- including business or rental or interest income.
b) Under the Financial Assistance to Dependent Children, in the event of death of mother-father/guardian nomination will be made by the sanctioned authority /SDM of near relative as guardian/ successor and on the old application form and old P.L.A. number, new nominated guardian/successor will be approved by the sanctioning officer and financial assistance will be continued without any break to the nominated guardian/ successor.
iv) Financial Assistance to Disabled Persons
a) Under this scheme, Financial Assistance is granted to blinds, handicapped, deaf and dumb and mentally retarded persons who are unable to earn their livelihood.
b) Handicapped persons which have less than 50% disability will not be eligible for Financial Assistance.
c) Mentally disabled persons are, however, eligible irrespective of disability.
d) Total annual Income should not be more than Rs. 60,000/- including business or rental or interest income.
f) In the cases of scheme under the Financial Assistance to partially mentally weak or mentally retarded person or handicapped children below the age of 21 years, in the event of death of mother-father/husband-wife/guardian nomination will be made by the sanctioned authority /SDM of near relative as guardian/successor. On the old application form and old P.L.A. number financial assistance will be continued without any break to the new nominated guardian/ successor. In the case of partially mentally weak/mentally retarded person or handicapped children below the age of 21 years the income of successor will not be considered after the of death of mother-father/husband-wife/ guardian.
2) Required Documents
Aadhaar card or Voter card or voter list or matriculation certificate or birth certificate issued by Registrar of Birth and Death Department as the proof regarding age (any one proof of age), Disability Certificate.
3) Recommendation & Attestation of Application Form
a)Rural areas:-
In Rural area Verification will be done by Patwari regarding land and residence.
b) Urban Areas:-In Urban area Verification will be done by Executive Officer Municipal Committee (EO/MC) regarding land/ property and residence.

Apart from that for both Rural & Urban areas
A self declaration saying that:

i) I am not in Govt. or private employment.
ii) I am not a self employed.
iii) I don’t have 2.5 acres of Nehri/Chahi land or more than 5 Acre barren land ownership/waterlogged affected land.
iv) I am not having more than Rs.60,000/- annual income from any source including interest/rental income.
v) I have not having any commercial property.
vi) I am not residing in a house measuring more than 200 Sq. meters in urban areas.
vii) I am not an Income Tax Payee.
viii) I am not registered under value added Tax Act, 2005.
ix) I am not Professional tax payee.
x) I give my consent to provide my Aadhaar number, Mobile number and Account number for identification, certificate and for distribution of pension.
xi) I hereby declare that the above information is true and correct and nothing has been concealed, if any information is found incorrect then I am liable for punishment.

4) Procedure for Sanction of the Application Form
Application forms will be available at District Social Security Officer, Child Development Project officer (CDPO), Sewa Kendra, Department Website, SDM Office, Anganwadi Centre, Panchayat & B.D.P.O Office. The verification will be done by CDPO within one month from the date of receiving the application form, after that the pension will be sanction by DSSO.
5) Procedure of disbursement
Disbursement of Pension is through Banks in Rural areas same as in Urban areas.
6) Rate of Pension
Rate of Pension under all schemes has been increased from Rs.750/- to Rs. 1500/- per month w.e.f 1st July, 2021.

National Social Assistance Programme (ACA)

The eligibility criteria and the scale of assistance under the sub-schemes of NSAP are follows:-

1) Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Schemes (IGNOAPS)
The Eligible age for IGNOAPS is 60 years. The pension is Rs.200 per month for persons between 60 years and 79 years. For persons who are 80 years and above, the pension is Rs. 500/- per month.

2) Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS)
The eligible age is 40 years and the pension is Rs. 300 per month. After attaining the age of 80 years, the beneficiary will get Rs. 500 per month.

3) Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS)
The eligible age for the pensioner is 18 years and above and the disability level has to be 80%. The amount is Rs. 300 per month and after attaining the age of 80 years, the beneficiary will get Rs. 500 per month.Dwarfs will be an eligible category for this pension.

4) National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)

Rs. 20000/- will be given as a lumpsum assistance to the bereaved household in the event of death of the bread-winner. It is clarified the any event of death (natural or otherwise) would make the family eligible for assistance. A woman in the family, who is a home maker, is also considered as a 'bread-winner' for this purpose. The family benfit will be paid to such surviving member of the household of the deceased poor, who after local inquiry, is found to be the head of the household. For the purpose of the scheme, the term"household" would include spouse, minor children, unmarried daughter and dependent parents. In case of death of an unmarried adult, the term household would include minor brothers/sisters and dependent parents. The death of such a bread-winner should have occurred whilst he/she is more than 18 years of age and less than 60 years of age. The assistance would be given to every case of death of bread-winner in a family.
