National Creche Scheme was earlier being implemented by NGO’s. Now, the Department has taken over these crèches from 1.1.2017 as per the instructions of Government of India and 175 creches are functional in the State for children of the working mothers, who are working for a minimum 15 days in a month or 6 months in a year. The department proposes to have Creche in Punjab Civil Secretariat -2 and in 6 District Administrative Complexes in the year 2020-21.
Goals-
To provide day care facilities for children (6 months to 6 years) of working mothers in the unorganized sector to improve nutrition and health status.
Eligibility
Children (who are in the age group of 6 months to 6 years) of working mothers, who are working for minimum 15 days in a month or 6 months in a year.
