This Scheme was started on 20.07.1961. The NGOs are entitled to get grant-in-aid under this scheme. To get grant-in-aid, the NGOs – Non Government Organizations should be registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and these should have working experience of 3 years in the following fields:-
• To look after the Welfare of Children.
• To look after the welfare of women like providing them computer training, stitching and embroidery, craft training etc.
• To look after the welfare of Youth.
• To look after welfare of disabled/elderly/beggers.
Method of sanction
The applications recommended by Deputy Commissioners will be processed in this department. The eligible applications will be submitted to the department level Committee headed by the Director, Social Security Department. This committee gives sanction of grant-in-aid to the eligible NGOs. The grant is transferred on-line to NGOs..
Benefits
Under the scheme, NGOs are entitled for grant in aid of Rs. 02 lacs for one or more than one project in a year.
Method of application
The NGOs will submit grant-in-aid application (02 sets) to this department in the prescribed performa duly recommended by the concerned Deputy Commissioner. This application will carry the information regarding the project report of the programme to be under taken, a copy of rules and regulation of the institution including expenditure reports of the NGO in the last 3 years.
