This scheme is being implemented by Ministry of Women & Child Development in 6 districts of Punjab State. This scheme has been formed by merging Kishori Shakti Yojana and Nutrition Programme for Adoloscent Girls (NPAG).This scheme is being started in 200 districts of the country as a pilot project. This scheme has been started from November, 2010 and Kishori Shakti Yojana will be implemented as before in the remaining 14 districts. The main objective of the scheme is to provide nutrition to the girls in the age group of 11-18 years and to uplift their social and economic status. There are two components of the scheme:

  1. Non-Nutrition component: First component is meant for providing training to the adolescent girls and the expenditure borne by the Centre and state 60:40 ratio respectively.
  2. Nutrition component: The second component under the scheme relates to Nutrition to AGs and the expenditure will be met in the ratio of 50:50 between Centre and State.

For the financial year 2016-17, a budget provision of Rs. 1859.72 lac has been made, out of which an amount of Rs 1663.18 lac has been spent.
