Two Swadhar Grehs have been set up in Jalandhar and Amritsar for needy women in the State of Punjab, which are being run by Non. Governmental Organizations (NGOs) namely Association for Social Health in India and All India Women's Conference.
1. In Swadhar Greh, free shelter, food, medical facilities, vocational training and free legal-aid is being provided to the women.
2. Women in Swadhar Greh are given technical training in cutting, tailoring, computer education, embroidery etc.
3. There are around 70 inmates can stay (40 Jalandhar and 30 Amritsar) in both Swadhar Greh.
4. Free medical facilities are given by the civil hospitals and charitable hospitals to the inmates in Swadhar Greh.
5. Grant is provided by Punjab Govt. also.
Benefits
Legal services, vocational training, medical facilities, shelter, food, clothing, counseling and care is provided.
Eligibility
Women above 18 years, who are deserted and are without any social, economic support and women affected by domestic violence etc.
