Open Shelter Homes are run by State Government itself or through a Non- Government Organization. In these homes, children are provided with residential facility on short-term basis, so that they can be protected from vulnerable conditions and abuse.
One Open Shelter Home is being run by the NGO in District Tarn Taran.
Benefits
1. To provide immediate help to children who are in vulnerable situations.
2. To fulfill the basic needs of children: food, clothing, shelter, education, medical aid and free boarding & lodging etc.

The Children in need of care and protection are eligible.
