In 1998, Government of Punjab constituted Punjab State Commission for Women for safeguarding the rights of women, to provide justice and to raise the status of women. Commission deals seriously and takes immediate action on all types of cases of women received in their department i.e. domestic violence, harassment for dowry, sexual harassment, acid attack, right to property, to provide immediate relief and justice to victim women.
